Your limit

The state keeps count for you.

You do not have to keep a notebook. You do not have to add anything up. Arkansas keeps one number for you, and the shop reads that same number when you walk up to the counter.

You can look at it too, any time you want. It sits in your patient account, on a line called Limit Meter. Here is where to find it and what it is telling you.

Finding it

Four steps, one password

    Sign in

    Use the Arkansas Department of Health site, with the same email you used to apply. It is the same sign in you use to renew your card.

    Open your record

    It shows whether your card is good, the day it runs out, and everything you have picked up. Looking costs nothing.

    Look for the battery icon

    Along the top of the portal there is a row of small icons. The green battery opens your Limit Meter. That line is the real count: how many grams you have bought in the last fourteen days, and how much room you have left.

    Look at the days too

    What you bought stops counting fourteen days later, to the day. So the number is only right for today. Look at it the morning you plan to go.

The limit

Two and a half ounces in any fourteen days. Written out in grams, 70.875.

It follows you, not the shop. Every dispensary in Arkansas draws from the same number. It is not a monthly allowance, and nothing starts over on the first.

Worth knowing

If your math and the register disagree, the register wins, because it is reading the state record. Ask what it says before you decide what to get. If the number surprises you, go look at your own account.

Why it changes on its own

Fourteen days that roll along with you

Think of it as fourteen days walking behind you. What you bought counts for those fourteen days, then it steps off and the room comes back. Pick something up on the first, and that weight is yours again on the fifteenth. Nothing to do. It just happens.

A few things before you go

Look the same morning

The number changes at midnight, whenever something ages off. What you saw last week will not help you today.

Bring your card and your ID

The shop cannot look you up without them, and it cannot sell to an expired card, no matter how long you have been a patient.

Say something if it looks wrong

People type these in, and people make mistakes. If you see something you did not buy, contact the Arkansas Department of Health. The ledger is theirs, not the dispensary’s, and the shop cannot change what is on it.
